In 2018 Sara Valenzuela<\/a> began her higher studies in 2D\/3D Animation and Video Games<\/a> in L’Idem. And last July she graduated in the 2D Animation specialization . Next Thursday, October 28, she will graduate along with her classmates at the Barcelona Design Museum. We have spoken with her to find out how she has experienced these 4 years of intense training at school.<\/strong><\/p>\n

About L’Idem<\/strong><\/h2>\n

How did you find out about L\u2019Idem? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Searching for universities on Google, I found the school’s website. I found her academic proposal very interesting.<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to study at school? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

For being one of the only centers that really focuses on the artistic part of Animation, which has always been my area of interest. Other schools focused more on teaching software and skipped the most creative part.<\/p>\n

What idea did you enter with, what did you think you were going to learn when you arrived and what have you really learned? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

I entered with the idea of being a 2D\/3D animator, but throughout my training at L’Idem I have learned all the aspects of an Animation production. I discovered that I was passionate about storyboarding and, finally, I ended up specializing in Storyboard and 2D Animation.<\/p>\n

What do you value most about these years at L’Idem? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The general support of the entire teaching team<\/a>. I am very grateful for all your evaluations, both bad and good, since they have helped me improve and continue striving.<\/p>\n

What have you discovered during your training? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

I have learned to manage my work method more efficiently, in addition to learning to master the software that is currently used in international studies. This fact is very important to be able to enter the sector.<\/p>\n

How would you describe your time at school? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

I describe it as an evolution and as a way to prove to myself what I am capable of doing.<\/p>\n

Do you want to tell us something else about your experience at school? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Above all, it has been an enriching experience in which I value three aspects:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The freedom that school offers to interact with colleagues from different specialties. It is common to get up from your seat and see the work of others, not just your colleagues in the same discipline.<\/li>\n
  2. Feedback with teachers: commenting on your own projects eliminates the feeling of being locked in a class.<\/li>\n
  3. The commitment to your ideas: I value the absolute freedom that L’Idem has offered me to carry out work in your style, in addition to the support received to continue in the line that I was best at.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Let’s talk about your future<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Now that you finish your degree, do you have any projects in mind? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    I have some, but now I want to focus on gaining experience and improving even more.<\/p>\n

    Where would you like to be working in a few years? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Above all, Storyboard Artist, whether it’s 2D, 3D production or video games, I would like to try different things.<\/p>\n

    What is Animation for you? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

    For me it is a way of explaining, whether values or stories.<\/p>\n

    A piece of advice for future students who are thinking about studying at school.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    It’s a tough sector, with moments when you’ll be motivated and others when you’ll be rock bottom, but that’s part of learning, keep going!<\/p>\n
