The 2D short film ‘<\/a>Starving<\/a>‘<\/em> is set in an office in the 2000s. And it tells the story of \u00c1lex, an office worker exhausted from the daily routine who is transformed when hunger seizes her . At that point, the office becomes a psychedelic reality where anything can happen. The work environment acquires some strident tones and some dynamic forms. And \u00c1lex’s companions become delicious delicacies within our protagonist’s reach. In this article we show you the entire process of creating the characters.<\/p>\n

The characters in ‘Starving’<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the short film fifteen characters intervene with their respective transformations into food. According to Miquel Aloy<\/a>, Concept Art professor at L’Idem, the main difficulty for the Concept area was \u201dcreating a sufficiently differentiated line-up of characters so that the viewer could identify each character as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karma Juliana<\/a> , Catarina Ferreira<\/a> and Clara Ribas<\/a>, 4th year students specializing in Art at L’ Idem, they have been in charge of designing the characters of ‘Starving’.<\/p>\n

\u00c1lex, our protagonist <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The design of the protagonist of the short film 2S has been quite laborious. In her natural way, she had to convey exhaustion and lack of energy. To do this, they chose to look for the character to have a lot of gravity. That is, that she gave the feeling that she falls as if she were a withered flower. In this sense, in its design they have paid special attention to: <\/ p><\/p>\n

    \u00c0lex is not human, he is a monster who threatens to live in society. She is a tall, shy and reserved lady with long hair, after which her ulls fade. These are the only way of speaking which she expresses her feelings.     Els personatges secundaris<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Per als oficinistes han ideat figures m\u00e9s estereotipats, alineades amb el menjar en qu\u00e8 es transformen. Gr\u00e0cies a l’estil gr\u00e0fic triat per les nostres estudiants -un estil amb formes molt simples als seus contorns i sense gaire informaci\u00f3 al seu interior- han pogut jugar amb les siluetes i proporcions dels personatges d’una manera for\u00e7a accentuada. Segons ens han comentat totes tres, el proc\u00e9s de transformaci\u00f3 de personatges entre la seva forma humana i la seva forma com a aliment ha estat molt divertit.<\/p>\n

    \u00c9s un home d’estatura petita que viu enfadat amb els empleats, amb qui es mostra molt exigent. La seva expressi\u00f3 nom\u00e9s canvia quan es transforma en hamburguesa.<\/p>\n

    La fisonomia d’aquest personatge presenta una cintura eixamplada i un tronc prim, semblant a la forma d’una ampolla d’aigua.<\/p>\n

    Aquest personatge femen\u00ed t\u00e9 els cabells i la faldilla m\u00e9s quadrada, per assimilar-se a la forma d’un biquini-entrep\u00e0.<\/p>\n
