On Monday, November 22, Antonio Santamar\u00eda<\/strong>, professor at L’Idem Barcelona, will become the first storyboard artist to be honored by the <\/strong><\/span>Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain<\/a><\/strong >. This distinction recognizes the trajectory of professionals in the service of cinematography who, as they are not heads of department, cannot access the Goyas or the rest of the Academy Awards. The 2021 Professionals tribute ceremony is held a week before the names of the nominees for the 36th edition of the Goya Awards are announced.<\/span>
” Deep down it is a recognition that goes beyond the personal”, Santamar\u00eda declared, “it has to do with my profession”. For our professor, with this award the Academy recognizes “the importance of the storyboard in any film production and that fills me more than the fact of seeing my name inscribed on that plaque.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with <\/span>Santamaria<\/span>, the Academy will recognize races five more professionals: Lourdes Navarro, script; costume dyer Mar\u00eda Calder\u00f3n; the head of electrical Ricardo Aramburu; Tom\u00e1s Ros\u00f3n, an expert lawyer in intellectual property; and the digital effects composer Sonsoles Aranguen. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Recognition for 26 years of experience<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/h2>\n

Antonio Santamar\u00eda, Storyboard teacher at L’Idem Barcelona<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Diploma in Comics and Illustration from Escola Joso and in Advertising Creativity and Marketing from Createcnia. Since 1996 he has specialized in storyboard animation, work that he has combined with animation projects for advertising and illustration for children’s books.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout his career, Antonio has worked for renowned animation studios such as Filmax, ZeppelinTV, Kandor Graphics, Cromosoma, Rainbow, Moonscoop, Strika Entertainment, R & amp ;R Communications or Rovio. During the last years he has been linked to Netflix, in productions of animated series. Between April and May 2022, L'Idem will hold two Open Days<\/strong> aimed at all those interested in learning about the school and the Animation and Design programs we offer for the 2022-2023 academic year.<\/p>

The sessions will take place on Saturdays 2 April and 7 May<\/strong> and will consist of:<\/p>

1- Informative talks<\/strong> about the higher studies and International Masters in Animation, Design, Game Art and VFX.<\/p>

2- Guided tours<\/strong> of our 22@ campus, a 3,500m2 industrial building equipped with cutting-edge technologies.<\/p>

In addition, the teaching staff and students at L'Idem Barcelona will be at your disposal to answer any questions you may have about the syllabus, work methodology or student life. And our Admissions Department will inform you about the admission process to our school and the scholarship and study grants program we offer.<\/p>
