On Thursday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., L’Idem Barcelona will host the exclusive Japanese Animation Masterclass by the Japanese animator, screenwriter and director, Atsuko Ishizuka.
Atsuko Ishizuka joined MADHOUSE in 2004 and made her directorial debut in the music video for NHK Minna no Uta’s “Tsuki no Waltz.” She directed her first television series in “Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo”. Since then, she has actively directed television series such as “No Game No Life” and “Hanayamata.” In 2018, he directed the completely original television series “Sora yori mo Tooi Basho” and received high ratings both in Japan and abroad.
In 2022, his first original film, “Goodbye, Don Greese!” It was premiered at several film festivals, including a nomination at the ANNECY International Animated Film Festival and received several awards.
Atsuko Ishizuka is one of the teachers of the International Master of Japanese Animation taught by L’Idem Barcelona. In this Masterclass she will talk about her professional career and will bring us closer to the way Japanese animation studios work.
